    Program to train water technicians now accepting students

    Water Quality Technician certificate of credit program commences at Southern Crescent Technical College.

    Are you interested in pursuing a career as a Water Quality Technician?  Southern Crescent Technical College is offering a certification program that complies with Georgia Secretary of State Licensure requirements and prepares students to take the state's exam for a Water and Wastewater Treatment Operators Class III License.

    The project includes but is not necessarily limited to, construction of the following:

    Two new coarse bar screens at ICWRC; New transfer pump station at ICWRC; New transfer pump station electoral building at ICWRC; Electrical and instrumentation work at ICWRC; Piping connections at ICWRC; Site work at SRWRC; ICWRC additive alternative modification of existing digester to equalization storage; Two new primary clarifiers at SRWRC; New primary headhouse with primary sludge pumps and clarifier drain pumps at SRWRC; New primary scum pumps and clarifier drain pumps at SRWRC; New primary scum pumps at SRWRC; New primary junction box and piping connections at SRWRC.   

    If you have an interest in the Project as a subcontractor, supplier or joint venture partner, please contact Brian Mazanec (brian.mazanec@flintco.com) by June 26, 2020 to discuss the project in more detail.  If your firm is certified by the City of Atlanta as an MBE, FBE or SBE, please submit a copy of your certification letter.  A letter confirming the role and responsibilities of the subcontractor/supplier may be required. The Joint Venture is accepting responses to the RFP until July 16, 2020 at 12:30 P.M. EDT.

    Joint Venture Participation on City of Atlanta Projects

     

    The City of Atlanta encourages, where economically feasible, the establishment of joint ventures to ensure prime contracting opportunities for all businesses, including good faith outreach efforts to utilize certified minority and female business enterprises on Eligible Projects. On projects valued at five (5) million dollars or greater, the Office of Contract Compliance shall determine on a project-by-project basis whether non-discriminatory outreach efforts to enter into a joint venture shall be required. On such Eligible Projects, joint venture member businesses must have different race ownership, different gender ownership or both. The minority and female business enterprise members of the joint venture on projects on which a Joint Venture is required must be certified as such by the Office of Contract Compliance, and the joint venture team shall include in its bid submittal the MBE or FBE certification number of each MBE or FBE joint venture member.  OCC has made the determination non-discriminatory outreach efforts to enter into a joint venture are required for this solicitation.

    WWPS, LLC is looking for qualified Subcontractors that are interested in the Annual Contract for Major Mechanical Repairs and Services, RFP-S 1200492, located in Atlanta, Georgia

    The City of Atlanta, Department of Watershed Management operates the Drinking Water System, Wastewater System and various other facilities in the Atlanta metropolitan area.  The City wishes to identify Contractors capable of providing mechanical services; determine the rates for services; and to place contracts with Contractors for quick response in providing services on an as-needed basis.  Under this contract, the Contractor will perform work at the City’s facilities. Work will include mechanical repairs and improvements on major process, facility equipment, and facility infrastructure.    These services will be oriented towards completion of specific tasks.  Contractor employees and subcontractors working under this contract must be qualified by training and experience for their position and hold any necessary licenses.
