Payroll Specialist
Position Overview:
As a Payroll Specialist you will be responsible and accountable for the coordination and delivery of compensation, time, attendance, and pre-payroll services.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 7+ years’ experience of multi state payroll processing experience
- Must demonstrate an understanding of the payroll and payroll tax processes
- Construction payroll experience preferred
- ADP experience preferred
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Proficiency in system reporting, data management and analytical skills
Function Specific Activities:
- Process payroll for all employees; perform payroll balance sheet accounts reconciliations and maintain appropriate records
- Monitor all tax accruals and reposting including correct payment of all federal, state and city taxes
- Balance quarterly payroll to ensure accuracy of taxable federal, FICA, Medicare and unemployment wages
- Oversee payments of fringe benefits, 401(k) contributions, garnishments, etc
- Provide accurate and timely changes to employees’ data regarding work schedules, leave balances, pay increases, benefit costs, etc. to ensure practices are aligned with internal and external policies and labor laws
- Interface with employees to make sure compensation, benefits, time and attendance related data is processed via payroll inputs
- Serve as primary administrator of ADP products and services
