of Membership
I would like
to introduce you to a unique organization, the National Association
of Women in Construction (NAWIC). As a women actively employed in
an important phase of the construction industry, you should be a
member of NAWIC!
NAWIC members
are women who hold diverse, responsible positions in a variety of
construction related fields to include architecture, general contractors,
subcontractors, engineers, material suppliers, construction news
services and construction trade associations.
Since becoming
a national organization in 1955, we have grown from 16 founding
members to more than 5500 members throughout the United States.
In addition, we have international ties with affiliates in New Zealand,
Australia, South Africa (SAWiC)
and Canada (CAWIC).
What advantages
does a NAWIC membership hold for you?
- NAWICs
objective is to help you become more competent, efficient and
better informed in the industry.
- Widen your
personal and professional horizons through local chapter programs
and projects, regional conferences, a national convention and
by taking advantage of continuing
education programs.

acquainted with the industry and your peers, more alert to your
companys needs and better prepared to meet those needs.
Improve your professional competency
which can lead to company growth and profit. Open new channels
of communication with other firms in the industry.
- NAWIC
Education Foundation (NEF) is committed to providing and promoting
educational opportunities to the benefit of the construction industry.
Some of the certifications, which include continuing education
credits (CEUs), offered include: Certified Construction
Associate (CCA), Construction Document Specialist (CDS), and Construction
Industry Technician (CIT). NEF programs are administered and accredited
through Clemson University.
